The Gear Jam Vintage Drags, Car Show and Swap Meet is October 13-14 at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

For our regular attendees and vendors of the NE GA Swap Meet, we’ve combined the October swap meet with the Gear Jam.

Eckler’s Swap Meet Vendors

Swap Meet spaces are just $30 for the weekend, and spaces are as large as you want.

Vendor spaces will be inside the gates, on the grass rows at the end of the paved pit area, across from the car show area behind the grandstands, and across the driveway where NMCA and Super Chevy have their swap meet area.

Vendor set-up is Friday, from 12-5pm, and Saturday starting at 7am.

Manufacturer’s / Artist Midway

We have a limited number of Manufacturer/Artist midway spaces left. These are behind the grandstands, next to the car show area, across from the swap meet vendors. This is a high-traffic area, as it is between the car show/swap meet, and the grand stand entry by the starting line (were everyone wants to watch the races).

Spaces are just $50 for the weekend.

Clothing, jewelry, pinstripers, etc. are welcome here.

Call for space availability. (706)424-5035

Free Spaces for Civic Groups, Youth Organizations, Charities involved in the hobby!

If you’re part of a group, an automotive program for schools, a charity or youth group that is involved in our hobby, we have free spaces for you on the Manufacturer Midway.

Call to reserve yours.

Car Show

The Georgia Street Rod Association (GSRA) is handling the car show again this fall. A portion of every entry into the judged car show will go to the GSRA to support the good work they do on behalf of all of us in the hobby.

There will be judged and non-judged parking in the show car area.

Judged Show entry is $25, and that gets the driver and a passenger in. All other passengers are $10 per person. Kids 10-under free.

Non-judged car entry is $10 per person, kids 10-under free.

Does your company have anything for our car show goody bags? We’ll take 100 of whatever you have! Call Brad for details. (706) 424-5035

All gates open at 7am both days, and close 30 minutes after the last cars go down the track.

Spectator entry is just $10 per person per day, kids 10-under are free.

Ford vs Chevy vs Mopar Heads-Up Match Race!!!

Hey Muscle Car and Nostalgia Super Stock guys—Think you’re fast? Fast enough to beat “Yankee” Bill Rosenberger’s  NHRA-Legal Super Stock ’67 427 Fairlane?

Bill and his buddy “Offy” Mike Fulper called me and said they’d like to come on down from Ohio and show us how they do it up north—We’re talking about a 2 out of 3 Heads-up. All motor, no bottle, all-steel car with ‘glass hood and bumpers, running 10.80s. He’ll run anybody comparable, stick or auto, no bottle. Mike mentioned maybe throwing in a little coin to sweeten the deal. We’re looking for a Mopar on Saturday, and a Chevy on Sunday! And if the chips fall different than Bill says they will, we’ll run a single Final on Sunday afternoon to crown the winner of the Big 3 Match-up.

Think you’ve got what it takes to put the Yankee on trailer and send him back up north? Give me a call and we’ll set it up.

Grudge Racers:

I had a guy call me this week about grudge racing his Model A against a buddy. We will do everything in our power to help settle these grudges! If you and a friend want to run each other, let me know and we’ll set it up.

Every paid entry into the judged car show gets Test and Tune passes throughout the weekend. All cars making drag strip passes will be required to go through street-car level tech.

Need to make test-hits?

Racers wanting to make test hits can buy a test-and-tune tech card for $50 per day. This is open to anybody. We’ll do T&T runs all weekend throughout the event, so you’ll get plenty of opportunity to make passes.

Spring Rain-Date Eliminations

Rain Date Eliminations for racers registered at the Spring event will be held on Saturday. Check the website for the event schedule.

The field is CLOSED for Rain Date Eliminations: only racers that attended the April event will be allowed to enter. There is no additional entry fee for SATURAY racing for Rain Date participants.

Entry into the Sunday eliminations will be the one-day entry fee of $75, and that gets the driver and a crew member in.

Rain Date racers can enter Saturday’s Gambler’s Race ($40), if you’d to run two eliminations programs on Saturday.

At the Driver’s Meeting on Sunday, I asked everyone to send me an email with their name so I had an easy record of who was there… I think about eight of you did… I’ve got everyone’s tech cards, so I’ll have a list, but now I have to do it by hand…and some of you guys have HORRIBLE writing, so I’ll be butchering names.

Does your group want a place to run? We’ll accommodate it.

If you’re a member of a closed group, have four or more cars, and would like to run each other over the weekend, give me a call and we’ll be happy to make space for you to run each other—full program; Warm-ups and Eliminations.

Junior Dragsters

I’m a HUGE proponent of getting the next generations involved in ours sport, so we have local Junior Dragsters displaying on the midway and making passes throughout the weekend.

That about covers it, I think.

Actually, I’m sure I’ve forgotten something, so check out the Gear Jam’s FACEBOOK page for more updates.
